BUDGETING APPS

EVERYDOLLAR

It's the easiest for getting started. There is a free version that does all of the basics. You can also use the paid version to link bank accounts. I'm not an affiliate, but I recommend this for those just getting started.

MONARCH MONEY

More complex. Links to your accounts. Lets you budget, track net worth, and recurring bills. You can share with another family member and financial advisor. It takes a little more time to learn to use.

EMPOWER

Completely free. Lets you track your wealth. Links to bank accounts & investments. Tracks your transactions and lets you compare, but not good for traditional budgeting.

TILLER

This is for spreadsheet lovers. You get to use spreadsheets and you can link to your bank and credit cards so your transactions are imported for you.

SIMPLIFI by QUICKEN

Simple app. In between the simple EveryDollar app and more complex Monarch Money. It is affordable and will let you link bank accounts, but doesn't have as many features as Monarch Money.

HIGH YIELD SAVINGS ACCOUNTS

WEALTHFRONT

Some of the highest interest rates available. You can create multiple categories to visually separate money and get access to. your money faster than most accounts.

SoFi

High interest rates (if you set up direct deposit). Can create vaults to separate money and have money automatically transferred into those vaults. Comes with a checking account.

ALLY

Competitive interest rates. Lets you set up buckets to separate your money with great auto transfer features. Transfers money out faster than most savings.

MARCUS by Goldman Sachs

Competitive interest rates. Very simple. No extra bells and whistles. Usually offers a higher interest rate as a sign on bonus.

ONLINE BANKS

SoFi

Offers lots of products without being overwhelming. I'm a fan of their checking, savings, and credit card.

CHIME

Great for getting started. Lets you deposit cash for free. Has more free ATM's than most banks. I like their checking account and credit card if you need to build credit.

CAPITALONE360

So many products all in one spot. Very easy to use and to transfer money between accounts.

ALLY

Great customer service. Very easy to use. I love their checking and savings, but they offer a lot of additional products.

CASH BACK APPS

RAKUTEN

Good for earning cash back on online shopping. You can use the browser extension or the app on your phone. Always has a great sign on bonus.

IBOTTA

Great for cash back on groceries. Also works for online shopping. You can link to loyalty accounts.

FETCH

Easiest cash back ever. Simply snap photos of your receipts after shopping. The earnings are slow, but so easy.
